There will be portal announcements and breathless declarations that the 8th day of the 8th month is the moment Sirius aligns with the Sun in Leo and cosmic frequencies pour through and the number 8 amplifies everything, because the veil is thin and the gate is open and we should set our intentions accordingly.

And most of us will be sitting mid-scroll holding a question we dare not say aloud: how much of this is actually real?

I want to answer that question properly this week, because beneath the internet hype and modern construction of the Lion’s Gate lies something genuinely meaningful that goes back thousands of years, to the lions that have guarded every threshold humans have ever built - from the walls of Babylon to the temples of Egypt, where Sekhmet stood lion-headed and solar-fired, the goddess of sacred rage and purification, in stone that predates the modern calendar by millennia. Something that the modern mystics who assembled the Lion’s Gate in the 1990s were half-reaching for without quite knowing what they were reaching toward.

And this particular year, that something doesn’t just point backward into history - it points forward into a sky that is about to become extraordinary.

Because the event of this week may be the Lion’s Gate, but what arrives four days later is the real star of the show this month, when a total solar eclipse opens the Leo sky and begins a two-year sequence that ends with one of the longest eclipses in living memory drawing a line of darkness directly through the Nile Valley - through Luxor, through the Valley of the Kings, through the greatest lion landscape on Earth - at next year’s Lion’s Gate.

The sky this week is not celebrating a portal - it’s holding its breath before something significant begins.

Who would have ever suspected that the journey from the old world to the new would be so utterly exhausting?

Back at the start of the year, as we welcomed in the Genesis Reset - Saturn and Neptune’s unprecedented meeting in Aries that ignited the seed of a new world - many expected this would bring a swift end to the chaos and corruption we have seen in our world. That it would cut it off at the knees, and give rise to something better, and that we’d see it now, this year, emerging before our eyes.

What we have found instead is that we are being slowly worn down by a bombardment that never seems to pause. Protections built over lifetimes dismantled in an afternoon. The land, the animals, the elections, the wars. Another morning, another thing we love being taken apart while we watch. And underneath it, we are all asking the same exhausted question: when does this end? Does it have to be this destructive? Will it really take years to get where we’re going? Will we even get there at all?

This week, the sky answers clearly, speaking with rare clarity, and holding both halves of the truth at once, the hard one and the hopeful one, and it will not let us have either without the other.

The hopeful half is that this is a Fire Horse year, the first since the sixties, and this week the sky turns and speaks directly to that old dream. Sixty years ago, thirty thousand people put flowers in their hair and sang the Age of Aquarius into the air with a bone-deep certainty that a new world was arriving, and in the years since, many have lost hope that the vision for that world was wrong. But the only thing wrong was the timing. The seed they planted went underground and waited for the sky to be ready to hold it.

And this week that sky arrives, as the Sun dances in one day with three outer planets, then joins Jupiter to rise opposite the Full Moon in Aquarius, illuminating that the Age of Aquarius is no longer dawning - it has already dawned.

The harder half of the truth is that first light is not daytime. Dawn is the moment the dark is still almost total and only the horizon has begun to change. The light that arrives this week does not spare us what is coming - it reveals it. And what it reveals is that the demolition is not over. In many ways it is only now becoming undeniable.

As Saturn and Neptune, the two architects that rewrote the century’s code back at the Genesis Reset in February, both begin journeying backward together this week, taking a long second pass over everything that has fallen, they will ensure the next six months will feel like the first half of this year again, only louder and harder to look away from. More will break, and much of it will be things we love.

The old world will not leave quietly, and it is going to spend the months ahead crashing out in ways that are bewildering and, at times, frightening. What the sky asks us to hold is the almost unbearable both/and of it: that the new world is real and already being born, and that we must walk through the loud collapse of the old one to reach it. The garden and the rubble are the same ground. The new world grows low and quiet - in every act of care that doesn’t wait for permission, and every choice to look across at the person beside us instead of up at the leaders who failed us - while the old one crumbles all around it, falling faster than the new one can rise.

So if your body is asking you to rest, rest - we are living through a lot right now. The task of this era is not to out-shout the demolition, but to keep something tender alive inside it, and to still be standing, softened rather than hardened, when the light finally reaches the ground.

This week, something truly remarkable begins to take its shape in the sky - a configuration astrologers have been awaiting eagerly for decades. The four outer planets are about to reach 4° of their signs, and when they do they will form the shape of a basket on the zodiac wheel - a configuration known as Barbault’s Basket, named after the world famous French astrologer who saw it coming years ago. Over his storied career, Barbault correctly predicted the arrival of the 2020 pandemic, among many other events, and the alignment forming this week he called pour le plus grand bonheur de l’humanité. For the greatest happiness of humanity.

But as the basket has been forming, the question many have been asking this month is if Barbault predicted that 2026 would be a “splendid relaunch of civilisation” and “the greatest happiness of humanity” - why does it look like this? Why does the world we’re living through, with its wars and its institutional collapse and its consolidation of power into fewer and fewer hands, look nothing like a relaunch? It’s a fair question that deserves an answer, and that answer lies in a deeper reading of the original prediction, which I’ve laid out below.

Last week we stood at the threshold, as the whole sky held its breath waiting for the thunder to roll in. This week, the sky raises its voice and speaks like lightning.

Some weeks go by relatively quietly, as if we’re on our way somewhere, and the sky is gently guiding us and preparing us for what lies ahead. This is not one of those weeks. This week, we’re not on the way to something - this is the thing itself. In the coming days, we arrive at what this whole year has been building toward - one of the most significant astrological events of this era.

First, the Full Moon rises in Capricorn, flooding the architecture of power with light that neither softens nor apologises, then Jupiter crosses into Leo for the first time in twelve years, and the register of the entire world shifts as the sovereign heart steps forward and demands to be seen. The Age of the Heart stops being a quiet undercurrent and walks to center stage.

This week, the sky asks a different question. Now that we have spoken the truth, what does the heart want to do with it?

The answer arrives through Venus, who for the past few weeks has been swimming through Cancer alongside Mercury - the sign of the cradle, the kitchen, the coast, the mother, the motherland. The sign of belonging and of grief. While she has been there, the collective heart has been turned toward home, but this week, her tour of Cancer is complete as she crosses into Leo, touches Chiron as she goes - the final wound of belonging, the cost of having been held imperfectly by the places and people we came from. Last week, the sky made its formal announcement as four planets piled into Gemini, the Sun met Uranus in their first conjunction since the ingress, and the message arrived in voltage rather than words - the Age of the Mind is closing, the Age of the Heart is opening, and the species is being rewired from one to the other across the next seven years.

The discomfort so many of us have been carrying - the mental overload, the inability to focus, the strange tiredness, the sense that the inside of our own head has begun to feel like a room we no longer quite recognise - none of this is a breakdown (though it absolutely feels like it). It’s the old wiring failing because the signal has changed, and the new wiring being installed in its place.

This week, the new wiring receives its first transmission, as Uranus - the awakener, the rewirer - meets Sedna, a dwarf planet at the edge of the solar system named for the Inuit goddess of the deep waters, the mother of the ocean, the queen of everything that lives beneath the surface. In myth, Sedna was a young woman thrown overboard by her father in a storm, her fingers broken one by one until she let go, and as she sank her broken fingers became the seals and the whales and the walruses that fed her people for generations. The body the wounded masculine tried to discard became the body of the ocean, and the wounded feminine who was thrown away became the goddess who fed every creature in the deep.

This week, she touches the wire and what was thrown overboard and did not die is now rising into the nervous system of the species through the new circuit - not as memory, but as live current. Every voice the architecture pushed underwater to keep its surface tidy is coming back up, and it is coming back up through us.

The women who were not believed.
The bodies that were not honoured.
The earth that was treated as inventory.
The grief that had no permission to grieve.
The rage that had no permission to rage.
All of it is returning, up through the circuit.

If last week the sky was teaching the mind that it can no longer do this job alone, this week the sky shows it what the heart has been holding all along.

We are not being asked to just soldier through this week - we’re being asked to move to higher ground and let the water do what it came to do. That’s the sky deliberately overloading a single circuit: the one that governs the mind. This week marks a quiet but decisive shift as Mars - the planet of conflict, force, and the fire of action - finishes a six-week tour of Aries on Saturday and crosses into Taurus, changing the entire weather of what we’ve been living through.

Since the start of April, Mars in Aries has been the engine of the corridor of intensity that saw seven planets stack up in the sign of fire, while down on the ground Trump’s disastrous war in Iran ran off the rails. The open declarations, the dramatic strikes, the visible escalations, the bombs as headline - that’s all been Mars in Aries. Wars start in Aries, but they never end there - it’s just where they take their loudest form. On Saturday, at the very last degree of the sign, Mars meets Chiron; the wounded warrior making one final exact aspect before walking out of the burning building.

This is not the end of the conflict in Iran. It’s the end of the conflict as the main story.

What comes next, as Mars moves into Taurus - the sign of the body, the soil, the supermarket shelf, the heating bill, the supply chain - is the phase where the consequences of the fire become the lived experience of the world. Since late in 2024, Pluto has been moving forward through the early degrees of Aquarius, pressing into its twenty year journey through the sign that governs systems, networks, and collective organization. Pluto in Aquarius is the slow transformation of the structures we live inside - governments, technologies, financial systems, the architecture of who counts and how decisions get made - and for months now, that pressure has been gathering across the entire global system, reshaping the world as we know it.

But this week, Pluto stops moving forward, and for the next five months, it will retrograde back across the same part of the sky it just traversed - as if it’s the steamroller reversing back over what it just mowed down. Whatever Pluto compressed in the first few months of this year - the political maps it tore up and redrew, the institutional rulings, the system shifts in technology, finance, surveillance, and collective organization it oversaw - is all about to be composted slowly over the months ahead, and by the time Pluto stations direct in mid-October, just a few weeks before the United States midterms, whatever has been processed underground will return to the surface as fact.

The systems we have lived inside our whole lives are not going to be repaired by this cycle. They are going to be transformed - which, in Pluto’s vocabulary, means broken down so that something else can be built on the cleared ground. That breaking is going to keep happening, and it will hurt, and we will lose things we love, and we will watch institutions that once meant something become hollow, and see leaders fail us, and the maps we trusted to guide us go blank.

Yet at the same time, something else is being born, at scales most of us are not yet looking at. In gardens, and group chats, and in neighborhood meetings. In small congregations, and watershed councils, and tool libraries, and open source projects. The next world is being seeded right now, in places small enough that the people inside them know each other’s names, and the work in this season is not to be saved by the failing system, but to recognize that the system is finishing, and to put our actual building energy into what comes next.

And what exactly comes next? Well, the sky is telling us that clearly too. The last time Pluto moved through Aquarius 250 years ago, it steamrolled over the divine right of kings, and democracy was born on the cleared ground. Now it’s back to collapse a system that’s no longer fit for purpose, and it’s already describing what we should build in its place.

Last week, the fist closed exactly when the sky said it would, as Mars met Saturn in Aries and, within hours, Trump’s claim that the Strait of Hormuz was open began unravelling as Iranian forces fired on three vessels trying to cross the strait and the US blew a hole in the engine room of an Iranian-flagged cargo ship and seized her in international waters. Force met structure on cue, just as the sky predicted.

Then as Mercury crossed Saturn and Mars, The Wall Street Journal described a President so unstable after learning Iranians had shot down an American jet that his own aides physically kept him out of the room as updates came in. The same President later fell asleep in an Oval Office press event, went on late night social media rants about the Clintons and the Obamas and reposted AI-generated images of women who do not exist and asked Iran to release them. The New York Times described it as “a deranged autocrat mad with power.” The sky called it what it was - a leader unravelling.

Friday brought the financial threshold the sky had been telegraphing for months as Venus met Uranus at the very last degree of Taurus, and on cue the United Arab Emirates asked the US Treasury for a financial backstop - they are running out of capacity to keep the Iran war going, as the petrodollar architecture took a visible hit and the people inside it scrambled to hold it together with private American money. The same rupture showed up at ground level as Farmer Mac's reported Chapter 12 farm bankruptcies up 46% and total farm debt now projected at a record $624.7 billion. 70% of American farmers told the Farm Bureau they can't afford the fertilizer they need this season. Venus met Uranus in the bull's last degree, and the bull is the farmer, the granary, the soil itself. The petrodollar wobbled in Dubai. The land cracked open in the Delta. The same money running out in the same week, at every scale at once.

Then Saturday’s Sun-Pluto square detonated the corruption story wide open as Senator Jon Ossoff called out Jared Kushner’s two-billion-dollar Saudi funding and Eric and Don Jr’s company pitching drone interceptors to Gulf states during the very war they are profiting from. The Mar-a-Lago Mafia, Ossoff called it. Pluto doesn’t destroy what is real - only what was never real to begin with.

After weeks of walking through relentless fire, where every major movement in the sky was in the same sign moving in the same direction - forward, hot, fast, and igniting - this week, the forge finally cools. The Aries stellium becomes a memory as the Scorpio Full Moon - the most watery moon of the year - rises on Beltane, the old fire festival when fire and water were always meant to meet. The forge has done its work, the blade has been made, and now the sky plunges what has been forged into the deep, and in the hiss and the steam of that meeting the blade will finally be set.

As Uranus, the awakener, crosses from Taurus into Gemini after seven years of shaking the body of the world, the seven-year rewiring of the human mind begins. The seven years that just ended changed the ground we stand on. The seven years that begin this week will change the instrument we perceive that ground with as the mind itself is rewired.

This week, as we welcome this shift and also observe the Scorpio Full Moon, the sky asks us to descend instead of ascend, to drink instead of burn, to let the body catch up with what the last three months have done to it. Some of us will feel it as relief, and some as heaviness - a weight in the belly, a drop in the mood, a pull toward solitude or water or sleep. Neither is wrong. Both are the quench. The body is being allowed, finally, to set the shape of what the fire has been making. We have been in a forge and we are being taken out of it, and the hiss we hear is not a warning, but the sound of the shape setting.

The fire has done its work.

The largest supply disruption in the history of the global oil market is now in full swing, and the man who started it is threatening to blow up civilian infrastructure on social media at 3am.

Yes, a new age is dawning, but first the old one must be put to rest, and the one we have been living in is not going quietly. This is the end of the age of oil, and the age of the mind, and the age of dominance, fear and control, and the beginning of an age that is led by the heart. We are walking through what feels like chaos on our way to coherence - this is what the way between worlds feels like.
