“Truth has never lived only in ink. Truth is a frequency - something you feel in your chest when it rings clear and real. That’s the divine spark: not in pages bound by empire, but in the resonance we carry inside.”

A very powerful message. Thank you for compiling this research and courageously sharing it. I think it’s time to share it far and wide…

I have said this for years (not as eloquently) that the Bible is made up and has been altered. That truth I've felt for a long time. Thank you for giving power back to our own resonance. It's time. Thank you!!

Well put! I’ve long thought that things went south with St. Paul. Once he hit his head & saw God, who only asked him to knock it off, he decided to be Jesus’ top salesman. He was, I think, an authoritarian social dominant, and rewrote Christian teachings to conform to pharisaic norms.

Yes I’d love to know what really went on there. Fascinating how the whole thing was spun together!

In my fantasy version, gentiles said to Paul, “ Oh yeah? Well OUR god died & came back!”

& Paul said, “Yeah, well our god did that too!” I honestly would not buy a used camel from that man.

I am grinning ear to ear right now. After you wrote the us versus them history of this country, I thought to myself that opening up about the truth of Christianity used as an empire building tool would be a great follow up.

Here it is!

I loved this!

There is so much in this that I would love to jump on and highlight, but I really don’t want to do that. I am more than satisfied and just plain tickled that you wrote this uncompromising reality check on another fundamental pillar of illusion used to justify truly unjust “power over” exploitation.

Well done Wiz! The timing couldn’t be better.

Thank you so much!🙏

Wow! Excellent research and superb writing. I'm a scholar of religion (having focused on ideological manipulation of Theology to undergird abuse of power within religious institutions) and I concur with all you've said here. For anyone who wants to dig deeper into how all those early writings and the various theological interpretations were manipulated to align with the political needs of Constantine's empire, I highly recommend the book by Philip Jenkins (aptly) entitled The Jesus Wars: How Four Patriarchs, Three Queens and Two Emperors Decided What Christians Would Believe for the next 1500 Years.

Wow, I truly loved this explanation of how the Bible truly came into existence. I’ve known it was a book written over many decades and centuries by many different authors. It has always reminded me of the telephone game - what was said by the first person is not always what is said at the other end. Yet, to learn just how much of these stories have been weaponized to meet someone’s interest is just scary to me. Being raised in Roman Catholic, to devout Christian, to living in the vibe (as you say). I’m hear for what is next. Yet, believe in order to truly enjoy that time it will have to be in my next life. Yet, knowing I am apart of this transition brings me joy too.

Thank you for reading and for catching the essence of what I was trying to say. There is so much wonderful wisdom in the Bible, as there are in many books, and it’s important to understand where the wisdom comes from - nothing wrong with the true story of how it was compiled!

Absolutely brilliant. I have long given up on any discussions when it comes to the Bible. I so appreciate the time and research you have provided. Many thanks Wiz.

Yes, I know how you feel. Honestly, some people want to believe in it all so bad, it’s best to leave them to their beliefs rather than try to make sense of it all. They can believe whatever they want. It’s nice to know there are others out there who see it for what it is - a profound book, a flawed book, written by humans, tampered with by humans, but still containing gems of valuable wisdom.

Wiz, 👏🏼👏🏼 amazing tour de force on the history of Christianity and the Bible, and a very timely extension to your earlier (also awesome) piece on America’s history of us/them separation. As someone who grew up in evangelical Christianity, I’m well familiar with this psychology and how it’s rooted in fear and othering. I’ve felt for a while that this old version of Christianity is in the early stages of being upended. This current era has the feel of a death rattle for the ugly version of Christianity in the grip of ego. How do you see it playing out, Wiz?

I grew up much the same, and spent many year unwinding from it all. I still respect every person’s right to believe whatever they wish, but no belief should ever be imposed on anyone. Especially not one that is based on a book that has so clearly been repeatedly tampered with for political purposes since the day it was inked. I agree - what we see now is not a moment of strength, but a wounded animal lashing out. Humanity is about to walk through a period of rapid transformation this next few months, and I do believe that one of the many things we will leave behind as we transitions is our attachment to old stories and old dogma that no longer serve. The spell is breaking…..and it’s about time….

It's so very true how people have used the Bible as a weapon to get money & power. You don't have to even step inside a church to have a relationship with God. God judges you on what's in your heart & how you lived your life. Were you kind to people, did you help the less fortunate ect.. Thank you so much for this article because right now trump is using the Bible as a weapon to take control of America's rights & freedoms. He even sells his own trump bible with the date he says God intervened. That's so pathetic but he can con his MAGA followers but not God. On Judgement Day he & his followers will be judged by God according to the things they have done. There's no way to get around that.

Here’s a little secret - I’m not sure God judges at all. Here’s another little secret - WE are God. Each of us, every living thing, the sum total of life, the energy of everything - that’s God. Every single thing that lives and has breath is God - what we call good, and what we call bad. There is no judgement, just choices and outcomes, just options and consequences, on this ever winding journey to remember who we are. xx

One time I went to the library seeking a book on biblical history. I could never find anything. This is exactly what I was looking for. I find it fascinating that people think the bible is the be-alll end-all, chosing certain scriptures that fit their narrative and ignoring others. Blindly unaware that this document has been re-written, re-translated, cut and pasted and cherry picked for thousands of years. They really think god sat down and wrote this or ordered others to take notes be a divine scribe?

Yes it’s interesting how hard it is to find literature on what I think is a pretty fascinating story of how the Bible was compiled. I don’t think the true story weakens the wisdom in the book, but perhaps it undermines the myth that God wrote it himself, which really, if you think about it, never made a stitch of sense. Love a bit of truth revealed, and glad to be able to shed some light!
