What Jake Tapper’s new book - and the stars - reveal about truth, leadership, and letting go. How love, denial, and silence led us back to the very thing we feared most.
This is so well spoken. Everything you say here. These words stand out: "Because the truth is not the enemy of love. It is its beginning. We start by refusing to protect myths at the expense of reality. Because love that cannot bear truth isn’t love"
Fear, denial, pride, and often a misapprehended idea of what "loyalty" is are the enemies of honesty and love. This has played out in history over and over again ad nauseum and plays out everywhere today in our institutions, families, and any of our groups. Protecting our friends, family members, leaders, by covering over the truth hurts us all. It is time to face this and learn. Lies, whether overt or through omission rob people of their ability to make good choices.
Thank you so much for this beautiful reflection. I know I’ve been guilty of this many times - being willfully blind to inconvenient truths. Most of the time, I didn’t even realise I was doing it. It’s like avoidance is built into the bones of our polite (or increasingly impolite) society. We’re taught that harmony matters more than honesty. But I’ve come to believe the opposite: that truth is the heart of love.
To love someone is to embrace the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. That’s been one of the hardest re-learnings of my life. And honestly, it’s been isolating at times. So many people want to be loved, but not held in truth. But these days, the only way I know how to love is in the light. Dancing around reality doesn’t feel kind or respectful to me anymore, because ultimately, it isn’t.
You touch upon something profoundly significant! The reality is that each of us, at some point, has faced this challenge to varying extents. The innate human desire to conceal what feels uncomfortable, to avoid the judgment of others, and to appear flawless in their eyes is incredibly powerful. Yet, here you are, offering me another moment of reflection this morning. Your courage and wisdom shine brightly!
It is indeed a daunting task to embrace truth, even within ourselves. Speaking and living our truth is a skill (actually a fine art) we must rediscover—understanding where, how, and with whom to share it. Perhaps the journey begins with ourselves--how do we walk away from truths about ourselves, how do we avoid seeing them, how do we deny them and project them on others? And I believe this would become easier if we did this with a loving, gentle, yet firm and unwavering gaze...so we don't scare our shy parts away but feel safe enough to truly show up. What are your thoughts on this?
Moreover, it is crucial for us, as a global community, to cultivate environments that encourage honesty and authenticity. We must foster spaces where people feel safe to be truthful and to admit when they fall short. This is where love plays a pivotal role—not the superficial kind, but the self-aware love that acknowledges our collective journey of growth and learning.
We must nurture a world where living truthfully is less daunting, a world that embraces rather than ostracizes. I am eager to delve deeper into this dialogue with you and anyone who wants to explore this topic. What are your thoughts? Thank you for graciously welcoming my reflections. Your openness is a true gift!
There is gold riddled throughout your writing. Your perspective is precious and clear. I find myself reading this just thinking "Yes". A deep soul "yes". If my writing is throwing the ball in the air, your writing catches it beautifully and delicately. Always enjoy reading your reflections. xx
Thank you! I am traveling right now for a graduation…I love your writing…your soul shines through and you speak of meaningful forward looking things! It is a blessing to have found you!
I read you to try to find better clarity, so I appreciate your messages. Regardless, I will say I don’t believe Trump won the 2024 election. There is good evidence, found by professionals in the field of voting metrics, that indicates the election was hacked for Trump. I don’t believe the majority of the American people voted for Trump or that he won. Despite this, it is true and correct that truth MUST prevail, notwithstanding psychology’s Ellis. It is why all the truths concerning Trump have to come out as well. And with this truth, action needs to follow.
Thanks for reading with an open mind. I genuinely appreciate that. And I agree with you on this core point: truth has to prevail, no matter which “side” it lands on. That’s what I’m trying to model in this post. It’s not about cheering for or against any leader - it’s about daring to look at uncomfortable realities, especially the ones that challenge our preferred narratives. That’s the only way trust can be restored in any system - political, personal, or spiritual.
You’re right - all the truths need to come out. Not just the convenient ones. Not just the ones that help our team win. Truth without action is impotence. Truth without love is cruelty. But truth held in full view? That’s liberation.

Thank you for bringing love into the discussion. I wondered about him halfway through his presidency. MCI- mild cognitive impairment- progresses. It was very apparent when he was stressed or tired. My heart broke when I watched him at the debate. This is a hard discussion for those who still love him. Giving us language to love with truth is so important.
My heart broke too. It was such a human moment. This whole sorry affair really has been terribly, terribly human, and serves as an opportunity for us all to practice love while holding truth. It’s like walking a tightrope….and in these wild times we live in, we must all become excellent tightrope walkers!

Let’s hear about Trumps secrecy and lies.
How about that Gemini”dualism”?
I’ve written at length about Trump. I will be pleased when that is no longer a topic that requires so much revisiting!
Wizard, I would like some insight into my personal chart and the Pluto transit.
If I am a founding subscriber, is this a one time deal or ongoing?
I have gained insight from astrology for many years, but, alas, it’s often hard to read your own chart.
Do you do synastry and compatibility charts?
