Thank you, dear Wizard. In 2005 I visited Egypt, and had an experience that indicated what you mentioned - - that the Sphinx is several thousand years older than our tour guide would admit. Apparently, since Egyptian tour guides are often Muslim, and the Islamic faith has certain beliefs about when civilization began, the facts of archeology and anthropology seem to be constrained by theology. The author, Barbara Hand Clow, wrote a fascinating book “Catastrophobia” after consulting with ecological geologists about a meteor that struck Earth around 10,000 BC, and traumatized humanity - impacting us even today. It’s opened up a thought pathway I’d never taken on this topic - I certainly was aware that many Egyptologists and the gatekeepers in Egypt and indeed many historians themselves resist the growing mountain of evidence that the pyramids are much older than we’ve previously thought. It had never occurred to me that part of the reason for this could be religious, but that does make complete sense. It’s not just that these experts are resistant to their work being challenged, but the work itself has been used to support religious beliefs, which are even more uncomfortable to challenge. The stars tell us that these coming decades will bring a real shift away from religion as we have known it, as we step into a different kind of spirituality, less grounded in rules and ritual and more grounded in actual spiritual connection. It seems this goes hand in hand with us revising the age of the Earth and it’s many monuments. What a time to be alive!
