Dear friends,
This week, the ground beneath every throne gets a say as the Full Moon rises in Taurus - the sign of the ground we stand on, the food, the money, the home, the body - and it and the Sun both square Pluto, the planet of power, from Aquarius, the sign of the people.
The last time a Full Moon in Taurus squared Pluto from Aquarius was in 1779, more than two centuries ago, when America’s money had just become worthless, and a crowd who couldn’t afford bread was firing on the house of a man who’d signed the Declaration of Independence. The question that Moon asked then is the same one it’s asking now: who does the ground agree to hold up?
And the whole world gets asked it at once.
Five central banks set the price of money this week. Brazil votes on Sunday, with a president about to turn 81 facing the son of the man who tried to overturn his last win. Canada’s just come through two rounds of voting, with more this week. Israel votes on Tuesday, for the first time since October 7, and America is heading to the polls for the midterms. That’s a lot of ground moving at once, and some of it will feel unsteady, but the sky is very clear about which way the current runs, and we’ve got the map.
The Full Moon lands right on one Brazilian candidate’s fighting spirit, and directly opposite the other’s Sun. One of Israel’s two leading men spends the week with his words hitting a wall, while the other has the deep current of change running straight through his chart. Canada takes two separate tests from Saturn in the space of six days.
The chart lit up hardest of all this week belongs to a country that’s barely in the headlines, quietly carrying messages in the Iran war. And Putin and Xi are watching all of it, each with his own ground moving under his feet. Which man, which nation, and what comes after the count, that’s as much as I’ll say out here.
There’s a personal side too. This Moon reaches whatever each of us is standing on, and whatever we’ve been holding up out of fear. If your birthday falls in the last week or so of October or July, or between about the 20th and the 25th of January or April, you’ll feel it most, and you can find exactly where it lands in your own chart.
