This week, for the first time in nine years, the exile arrives at the establishment’s door, spilling the secrets of our institutions.
Black Moon Lilith is a point in our sky that in myth represents the first woman, the one who refused an arrangement she never consented to, and was cast out and demonised so that nobody would ever listen to what she knew. This week, she enters Capricorn - the sign of the establishment: governments, corporations, courts, parties, dynasties, reputations - and stays for nine months, and to get a taste of what she’s here to do, we only need look back at what she’s done in Capricorn before.
This is the transit that delivered the Wall Street Crash in 1929, Rosa Parks’ refusal in 1955, the Watergate tapes in 1973, the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991, and Bernie Madoff’s two sets of books in 2009, and oversaw the downfall of Harvey Weinstein and the rise of the MeToo movement in 2018. Every nine years, on schedule, she makes the world’s buried records speak.
And she’s already begun her work. Last week, with Lilith standing at the very last degree of Sagittarius, the truth-teller’s sign - the exact place she stood when the Weinstein story broke - a researcher resigned from Anthropic and told 70 million people that the AI industry is “gambling with our lives.” Right on schedule, the lone voice has spoken, and Lilith’s nine months calling up what’s been buried starts now, and the list of who and what she’s coming for is long.
She opens, this very week, on the chart of Ghislaine Maxwell. Before October is out she’s touched Mark Zuckerberg, Stephen Miller, Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively, Pam Bondi, Todd Blanche, Sam Altman, OpenAI, Mossad and the Russian Federation. November and December bring Elon Musk, then Donald Trump and Bill Clinton, along with a three-way alignment between Russia, Ukraine and Britain.
The new year grinds through the institutions themselves: the FBI, the Federal Reserve and Jerome Powell, Volodymyr Zelensky on his own birthday, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, Les Wexner, the Democratic Party, Germany and the EU. And from April the bill arrives - Jeff Bezos, Thomas Massie, Benjamin Netanyahu, RFK Jr, Mike Johnson, Mike Lindell, the Republican Party, China and the United States’ own Pluto - with Jeffrey Epstein’s chart, the dead man’s records, struck right in the middle of it. The Epstein files run through this entire transit like a spine.
And underneath it all, the land Down Under is rocked by Lilith across a range of charts, from the Prime Minister, to the ruling Labor Party, to Australia's answer to Trump - Pauline Hanson - and her One Nation party, right down to its police force and its prosecutors - a nation-wide reckoning, top to bottom.
And Lilith’s coming for each of us too - because Capricorn claims a corner of every chart, and every one of us has at least one structure built on something unsaid.
