This week, as a fiery Full Moon rises in the sky and the Sun crosses the equinox into Libra - the sign of manners and diplomacy - world leaders will gather in New York to tell the rest of the world what they think is wrong with it. It’s the United Nations General Debate - the one week of the year when the whole world sits down in the same room. Trump’s due at the podium on day one, Iran, Ukraine, Netanyahu and the Palestinian delegation around the equinox, and China, Russia, Saudi Arabia and the Vatican just as the Moon turns full.
This year’s theme is restoring trust, which is a tall order seven months into a war with Iran, with the Strait of Hormuz still choked, oil over $100 a barrel, Moscow fresh from a carefully managed election, and the Epstein files still working their way up through the floorboards in Washington.
Trust is in short supply, in a world that feels like it’s on fire.
And fire’s the real theme of the week. Saturday's Full Moon is in Aries, the first of the fire signs, so the United Nations will quite literally be meeting under fire. It rises over the same part of the sky where Saturn and Neptune met for their historic conjunction in February that gave us the Genesis Reset - the seeding of a new structure, a new dream, a new world. The Full Moon shines a light on everything that seed’s been doing in the dark, so we can see what’s blooming and where all this fire’s coming from, and what it’s actually for.
Since fire and fury go hand in hand, this week the rage will be just about everywhere. It’s what we do when we’re afraid and the flames are licking at our door - we flick the flames away, usually at something or someone, which feels good in the moment, but only fans the fire. What this week asks of us, by the light of the Fire Moon, is to look at what’s beneath all the fury. There's a fear underneath everything we’re furious about, and this is the week it shows its face. And there's a part of us that knows exactly how to hold it, which has been waiting a very long time to be asked.
