I have seen some of the callousness from both sides of the Texas floods. I live in hill country. Not everyone voted for this…further no one voted to lose their child to a 30ft wall of water while away at summer camp. No one voted to lose their homes and businesses. This flood exposes again the failure of Texas to plan for disasters- failed early warning systems, electric grid failures, and failure to plan for future water needs(we were in a stage 5 drought before this storm). As Americans the response needs to be one of compassion and extending an olive branch to collectively demand better. Perhaps use the tragedy to find a common fight.

The difficult truth at the heart of this flood is that it was coming no matter who anyone voted for. The Earth is speaking, and now demanding we listen. If all we can do is haggle over who we voted for, then perhaps we are not getting the message. The Earth can speak louder, but we may not appreciate it. 😬 I hope you and your loved ones are safe. 🥰

Mother Nature is the great equalizer. We are at the mercy of the planet and we have abused nature for too long. Sadly I see this playing out throughout hurricane season. We for sure are in for a fight for our planet and collective existence.

I am fortunate in that we live above the dam and not in the way of the flood waters. The coming days however will test our national and local compassion and unity. Sadly the leadership at the top seems empty and performative.

Astrologically, we are moving towards a time where people no longer look to government to fix things....we start relying on each other, and forming communities, local pods that we can rely on. This transition will be rough but the outcome will be beautiful....we can do this.

There is so much here...thank you. The Texas flood reminds me of a poem by Stevie Smith called "Not Waving, But Drowning"--I read it long ago and it made me cry. I carried it along with me through life to remind me of who i want to be....and that i do not want to be someone who just walks by pain and suffering ..that pain and suffering deserves a real response that reaches out a hand to hold.

Watching the Texas floods unfold has taken my breath away at times. Some of the footage is unbelievable. Likewise, images from Ukraine, Gaza…the list goes on. Learning how to witness and move through the grief whilst staying tethered to love and hope. It’s a tightrope and a delicate balance!

Stevie Smith's Poem:

Not Waving, But Drowning

Nobody heard him, the dead man,

But still he lay moaning:

I was much further out than you thought

And not waving but drowning.

Poor chap, he always loved larking

And now he’s dead

It must have been too cold for him his heart gave way,

They said.

Oh, no no no, it was too cold always

(Still the dead one lay moaning)

I was much too far out all my life

And not waving but drowning.

We are literally drowning in the cruelty we allowed to be daily. AND we have a chance to change that...and we will.

I, too, was impressed that you pulled all of these many threads together while ill. Now that you've got this out of your hair, I hope the illness will leave your body.

Honestly, I think my body was just reacting the movement of the planets in the lead up to Uranus moving into Gemini…..it was bizarre, and has passed now! My Pisces moon is always very tuned to the collective and sometimes when things get heavy I get wiped out….especially when I’m tuning in to what’s going on to write the Wrap-Up! Getting better at putting my protective energetic force field around me!!
