When We Fight, We Win, But What If the Revolution Isn’t Resistance?
How to stop feeding the chaos and start feeding the light, escape the trap of outrage and choose something higher. This is a love letter to the quiet revolutionaries.
There’s a popular slogan that’s made the rounds over the last few years: “When we fight, we win.” It's been painted on protest signs, shouted in marches, printed on t-shirts, galvanising communities in the face of rising authoritarianism, injustice, and downright lunacy.
And listen, I get it. Resistance has its place. There are things worth standing up against. But the longer I sit with that phrase, the more I wonder if we’re asking the wrong question entirely.
Why do we always have to fight?
What if fighting - no matter how noble the cause - just keeps us looped into the same old game? What if every ounce of energy we pour into resisting darkness is energy we’re not pouring into building the light?
The truth is, a system that feeds on conflict loves it when we fight. Even when we think we’re pushing back, we’re still in the ring. Still playing by its rules. Still orbiting the same tired polarity: good vs. evil, left vs. right, light vs. dark. Two sides of the same exhausted coin.
Ever heard of an egregore?
An egregore is a kind of thought-form or collective energy - an invisible entity that’s born from the focused attention and emotional investment of a group of people. You know how a stadium full of fans can feel electric, like something bigger than the sum of its parts? That’s egregore energy. Same with fear-based media cycles, political cults, or viral outrage spirals. The more we feed it, through our anger, our obsession, our scrolling, our arguing, the stronger it becomes.
So when we fixate on “fighting the bad guys,” we’re still tethered to them. Still energising the same egregore. Even if we hate it, we’re helping to keep it alive. That’s the trap.
But there’s a liberating alternative: starve the damn thing.
Turn your attention elsewhere.
Away from the spectacle.
Away from the clickbait.
Away from the manufactured chaos.
And toward something real, human, soul-fed.
Every time you choose presence over panic, connection over conflict, joy over judgment, you’re unplugging from the egregore and investing in something much, much more powerful.
You’re feeding the light.
That’s what grows. That’s what multiplies. That’s what wins.
Not because we beat something. But because we became something.
The alternative to endless fighting is going deep within and anchoring ourselves in our own inner sense of peace and love and stillness. Focussing less on what we need to tear down and more on what we need to build up. Less on destroying our enemy and more on creating the world we want to live in. Becoming so radiant in who we are at a spiritual level, deep down, that darkness doesn’t get a seat at our table. Not because we fought it off, but because it simply couldn’t survive in our frequency.
Because what if the real revolution isn't resistance?
What if it’s resonance?
What if we stopped obsessing over what the “bad guys” are doing and started pouring that attention into fortifying ourselves internally, spiritually, so that we can be of service to our communities, so we can help those who are hurting (including ourselves) and bring some healing to this frayed planet?
Imagine if, instead of “when we fight, we win”, we reminded ourselves that when we love, we win. When we heal, we win. When we laugh, rest, sing, build, forgive, dig deep, go inward, find stillness, remember - we win.
What if we stopped feeding the chaos machine, the one that thrives on outrage, division, and distraction? The one that wants your nervous system fried, your hope flattened, your gaze locked on its endless circus of dysfunction.
Instead, what if we look away, not in denial, but in devotion.
Turn inward. Root down. Be still.
Commit ourselves to being less armoured with rage, and more anointed with peace.
Let them scream into the void. Let them raise their hell. We’ll be over here raising our vibration and calling in the light, because light trumps dark every time.
We’ll be untouchable.
Radiant. Unafraid. Not fighting. Not fearful. Because the real revolution isn’t out there, flailing in the noise. It’s inside us.
Quiet. Clear. Unshaken.
That’s where the light lives. That’s where it always was.
We don’t need to win the fight, we just need to stop showing up for it. Because the world doesn’t need more noise - it needs more light.
And the world won’t change because we shout.
It’ll change because we shine.
So resonate with this felt strong sense to do just this commune with the Bluebells coming through with spring time breathing in the sea air feeling it against my skin attuning to a sense of Well Being focussing in on stillness within a sacred embodiment and hearing the clarity and bright incisive purity and hopefulness and rhythmic trust and alignment to a higher sense in bird song ….and a breathing out and return to trust .. nudged awake again by something Marianne Williamson spoke … about the higher power brushing off the dark like lint off a coat .. thank you for the reminder Marianne I said out loud … pausing in the space of Easter Saturday .. realigning to the Inner Sound and tones of Truth .. thank you for the reminder !
Wise words for sure, thank you! I will also send light to Kamela and other leaders, known and unknown at this time, to rise up to lead our nation to rebuild with the such clarity!
