Had to take a recess half way through today’s Wrap Up!!! Breathing deeply, looking out the window at the colored leaves almost all down, Sandy Creek minding its way north to Lake Ontario, I considered the depth of our mission here, at this juncture. I’m in the healing profession, recently moved to this house overlooking the creek and park where I played with polywogs as a child.

You cleared the air as I’m sitting in the ashes of these times. I may be just the seed but I will birth the Phoenix for my son and the generations after him. There’s work to be done and my sleeves rolled up, will plant garlic today and welcome November and everything falling down like the leaves. Spring always comes.🪴

Thanks Wiz for fertilizing my imagination and heart ♥️ . You are a guide for the ages.

This is so beautifully written. It illuminates a path through turmoil that lifts my heart even as it looks clearly at the effort and pain on that path. Most of us wearing a body have walked through our lives with effort and pain. Even males trained as the enforcers for those who have the true power, the crown, carry a heavy role. Fulfilling that role separates them from their own heart. I suppose all of us have to return to ours, each on our own path.

Here you have called me a member of the Keepers of Collective Memory, My most heartfelt memory I can keep to share is the loss of the mountain I lived on until I was old enough to leave home. Even afterward I was called back over and over. That was my corner to hide when the world was too heavy. I watched climate change turn the ridge from green to orange over the course of forty years, and then in 2020 she burned.

For a few years I felt that I could never see her again, but screwed my courage to the sticking place and I went back recently. It seems fitting that the first things I noticed were Poison Oak and white Mariposa Lilies. Perhaps she just wanted me to know that it was never so perfect as in my memory, but always perfectly beautiful.

I keep reading your message over and over Jacalyn and I have nothing to add….what you’ve described is perfect and complete as is. The image of that mountain through the years stirred something in my quite deeply. I felt what you were reaching for here. Thankyou for sharing it. xx

I’ve written over and over about my mountain. I can still hear the upslope wind combing through the trees in the early afternoons of summer, carrying the smell of bear clover and red clay dust from the canyons below. I’ve wondered if I had a calling for what is left of my life, and I suppose it’s to remember the wild, remember what was beautiful and what was lost. Perhaps even what can be recovered someday. I can do that.

I needed this today. My first great grandchild was born on 10/27, and I will do whatever it takes to push as safely across the finish line. I want that with a desperation that is really, really hard to hold. I keep being confronted with the same betrayal over and over again from my wife, but I won’t leave her so all I know to do is try to love her through it. I think I have lost myself in the process, though, and I’m not sure how to fix it. So I’m going to study tarot and astrology and try to understand how to manage my life better. I’m trying to just feel the feels but I’m really struggling right now. But I’m strong. And I know how to grieve, unfortunately. Anyway, thanks for this, and sorry to dump on you a bit.

Might I suggest, dear Laurie, that above all, you seek to love YOURSELF through it all. There’s so much here for you to feel, and much of its heavy, so give yourself the kindness you give to others. Be the friend you wish you had. Your needs are allowed to be met. You deserve to be held. 🥰

Hi Laurie. I only recently started taking a deep dive into studying astrology after decades of studying and reading tarot cards. I don't know if you have used Ask Arion at all in terms of astrology but I've found it really helpful. Started with a free subscription to it and several months ago now upgraded to the lowest level of paid subscription which is about $15 a month Canadian and gives me 500 "asks" a month instead of the three free daily ones. I have long chats on there not only digging into my own chart more deeply, but once I entered the birth data of friends and family in the "Circle" section to flesh out my connections my interest really sparked and deepened. The one limitation on there for me is that as a visual person (I paint and a lot of my intuition speaks through that medium) I wish I could see actual charts (at least my own) on there. Fortunately I had one drawn up years ago from the first workshop I attended that I can use. There is also a website called astrologyland.com, where you can actually generate charts for free, in five different styles, and that's been helpful, too. I have a number of books on astrology bought over the years, but aside from a handful of workshops I used to take this is the first time I've been inspired to explore the area more thoroughly. For tarot I always recommend people start with the Rider deck, and branch out from there. The symbolism is clearly depicted on the cards, it's a really good jumping off point. With the internet there is so much information available but I personally always find it easiest to start with something I can hold in my hand while I rest my eyes on it. Perhaps that is not universal or you're already well beyond needing these basic tips, but I wanted to offer them because your comment spoke to me. Starting those practices is a form of self-love in itself. May they bring you insight and comfort and joy on your path. I'd love to know how it goes, if you're interested in comparing notes a bit, even, that is welcome. I love the creativity of launching those journeys in a time of crisis. It resonates. Good call! - Calandra

I’m laughing inside at being designated a ‘wise elder’. No one has ever accused me of being wise, but I can accept this as my path. I have been slowly opening my hands, and letting it go and I am more than ready to pass the power to the crowd. I fully understand that fear of letting go of ‘the crown’. The what ifs that bombard your thoughts when your life (like mine) has always been ruled by the crown. And to realize what it means to be living through a once-in-a-lifetime awakening and to be able to let go of what was never mine to hold forever is mind boggling.

“So the youth are the spark.

The rest of us are the hearth.

And the little ones are the reason we keep the fire burning.”

Yes, we can.

Make it so.

It really is challenging, Jay, to let go of a way of life you’ve been living all your long life…..perhaps that task is the one that’s most challenging of all. All I can suggest is that our safety never lay in the crown anyway, even at its best. We are safe, when we anchor in our hearts, when we are tethered to our divinity, remembering that this human experience is just one part of our existence as an eternal being, that there is so much more to us than this life and this body, all of which are temporary. When we plant our feet in that knowing, we need no crown or crowd to keep us safe…. that knowing reminds us that, no matter what, we always are. xx
