If this year's felt like the ground's been splitting open beneath you, like everything you'd built your life on has started cracking, there's a reason for it, and this weekend we finally get to see what it is.
Back in February, Saturn and Neptune met at the very first degree of Aries for an historic conjunction the likes of which hadn't been seen before in recorded human history. Saturn is the shape of things. Neptune is the dream underneath everything. Aries is the fiery place in the sky where every cycle begins again. This was the Genesis Reset - the planting of a seed for a whole new structure, a new dream, a new world, sown into the collective and into every one of us.
Seeds do their work in the dark, and for seven months this one's been breaking open everything that was laid over it, which is why so much of the world, and so many of our lives, have felt like they're coming apart at the seams.
On Saturday the lights come on, as the Moon turns full in Aries, rising over almost exactly the spot where that seed went in, with Neptune, the planet of dreams, sitting right beside it. It's the first Aries Full Moon since the Reset, and our first real look at what's been growing under the rubble: what's blooming, what's burning, and where in each of our lives the light is about to land first.
So if this year's had you wondering what on earth is going on with your life, this Moon rises with an answer.
Never miss a word.
The Seed That Brought the Fire
When the Genesis Reset landed back in February and the seed went in, plenty of us expected something gentle to come up. A kinder world, a softer one, love blooming out of the ground like spring. And then within days of the conjunction, the bombs started falling on Iran, and seven months on the Strait of Hormuz is still choked, oil’s over $100 a barrel, and this week the world’s leaders have been standing up in New York at the United Nations, one after another, telling the rest of the world what they think is wrong with it. Online, everyone’s picking a side on everything, and everyone’s furious.
It’d be fair to wonder what we actually planted.
The first thing a seed does, though, is break things. It splits its own shell, then it cracks whatever’s been laid over the top of it, and that’s what this one’s been doing all year. For a very long time now, the mind has kept a wall up between itself and the fire of deep feeling, and with it all the uncomfortable truths that come with feeling... what we really think, what we really want, what’s really been going on. The seed that went in back in February has been bringing that wall down, and everything it kept out for so long has been pouring back in - all truth allowed, and all of it allowed to be felt.
That’s why the world looks like it’s on fire right now. Truth is like fire - sometimes it’s a small flame we can warm our hands by, and sometimes it’s a blaze that takes the house, and for a very long time we’ve done everything we could to keep it at a safe distance.
It might seem strange that truth is what’s come up, when so many of us were hoping the seed would bring a more loving world. But love and truth were always the same thing, and our language remembers it even if we’ve forgotten. The old English word for truth was “troth”, which meant faithfulness, which is why at weddings we used to say “I plight thee my troth”, pledging our love by pledging our truth. To be true to someone was to love them, and to love them was to be true to them.
The people who love us best are always the ones who see us as we really are, the messy parts and the frightening parts included, and still choose to stay. The love that means the most to us is the love where we can show someone the fullness of who we really are, and still be loved anyway. Underneath the flowers and the cards, that’s what love is.….seeing truly, being seen truly, and staying. Love that can only survive by leaving the truth out has something missing at its centre, which is why it always feels a little hollow, however lovely it looks.
A long time ago, though, we decided some of the truth in our world was too much to bear. The mind, which likes things tidy and manageable, kept the comfortable parts and built a wall to keep the rest outside.….the grief, the rage, the shame, what we really felt and what we’d really done. Behind that wall we built a whole world out of politeness and good manners, and it looked a lot like love; we were kind, we kept the peace, we said the nice thing and swallowed the true one. But we can’t keep half the truth and expect to have a loving world, any more than we can love half a person. What we got was the look of love, like a faux fireplace with no chimney, only lights made to look like a fire.
So if the seed planted in February was the seed of a more loving world, it had to start by letting the truth back in, all of it, and that’s exactly what it’s been doing as it tears the wall down.
A world where the truth gets to come in feels nothing like the love we were promised. It feels hot and frightening, because it’s fire, and we’ve spent so long behind the wall that we’ve forgotten how to sit near it. And most of us, when we’re frightened, go straight to fury, which is why the whole world, it seems, is in a rage.
It’s easy to forget, while we battle the flames, that the seed that was planted was actually planted within each of us. It wasn’t an external event - it was, in fact, one of the most profound internal events our species has ever experienced, which is why, for a lot of people, this year’s been an unravelling. It’s felt like our lives are falling apart, and perhaps they are, but what’s doing the unravelling is the seed, working its way up from below, cracking everything above it as it grows.
That’s why the job stopped making sense.
That’s why the relationship collapsed.
That’s why the version of ourselves we’d been performing for years suddenly felt too tight to wear.
Things we’d been too polite to say came up the throat, and things we’d been too polite to feel came up with them, dismantling everything along the way. That’s the seed at work, cracking whatever was laid over it so it could come up.
This Full Moon in Aries offers us the first real look at what’s been blooming through the cracks.
Who Am I, and Who Am I Next to You?
Every Full Moon is a tug of war, as the Sun and the Moon sit on opposite sides of the sky, pulling against each other, and the tension between them lights up both ends of the rope. This one stretches between Aries and Libra, the Sun having just crossed the equinox into Libra this week.
Aries is the “I”. The self, the spark, the body, the courage to want something and say so. Libra is the “we”. The partner, the other person, the fair deal, the manners, the keeping of the peace. So the question this Moon asks each of us is one of the oldest there is: who am I, and who am I next to you?
For most of our lives the answer we were taught went something like this... keep the peace, be agreeable, file down the parts of ourselves that might make someone uncomfortable. Libra’s gifts are real and lovely, but the old world leaned on them so hard that a lot of us shrank the “I” to fit the room. We traded real fire for the faux fireplace, the look of warmth with nothing actually burning.
The Moon in Aries lights up the self we tucked away to keep the peace.
And with the seed breaking the wall down, that self has a lot to say.
When that fire comes up, we’ve really only got three things we can do with it. We can bury it again, and it smoulders away as an anger we can’t quite explain (and anger, very often, is love that’s been told to sit down). We can throw it, flinging it at the nearest person, and something burns. Or we can hold it. The mind only really knows how to do the first two. Holding fire is the heart’s work, and the heart’s always been built for it.
We’ve kept the words “heart” and “hearth” a single letter apart for a thousand years, and it’s no accident. The hearth was the ring of stone at the centre of the old wooden house that let a fire live safely indoors, cooking the food and warming every room. That’s what the heart does with the truth. It gives the fire somewhere to live.
So when this Full Moon lights up what we’ve been holding back - and we can see and feel the heat of it since the seed took down the wall that kept the fire outside - the invitation is to bring it down out of the head and into the heart. Hold it there, let it do what it came to do, and let it warm us before we decide what to do with it.
The Fog Beside the Fire
The wrinkle in all this is that Neptune is sitting right beside this Full Moon. Neptune is the planet of dreams, of feeling, of the ocean and of fog, and wherever it goes the edges go soft, so as the lights come on this weekend, we’re going to see what’s been growing from the seed.….but through a haze. The edges of “I” will go blurry. We might feel lost, or wildly inspired, or both within the same hour. An old dream of ourselves may float up to be looked at, and the question it brings is a tender one: is this still mine? Did I ever really want it?
That makes this a beautiful Full Moon for feeling and a pretty terrible one for big announcements. If the urge comes to quit, leave, blow it all up or declare our new life to the world in a single post, maybe sit on it for a few days - things look different once the fog lifts, and it will by next week. What we CAN trust under this Moon is the feeling underneath the story. We just need to sit with that, and let the story catch up later.
Underneath the haze, though, something quick and quiet is happening. The Sun and Moon are both working in easy harmony with Uranus in Gemini and Pluto in Aquarius, the two great planets of sudden change and deep transformation. So while the surface is foggy, the real change keeps moving underneath, smoothly and faster than we’ll realise.
Meanwhile Jupiter, the planet of expansion, is sitting in Leo, the sign of the heart, where it’ll stay until the middle of next year, quietly drawing all of us out of the small cold room of the mind and further in toward the fire.
And Mars is dragging itself through the last stretch of Cancer, the sign of home, which is why anything to do with family, belonging and “where do I fit” feels so raw to the touch right now.
Go gently with the people you live with this weekend. Everyone’s skin is thin.
Where the Light Falls for You
The seed that went in back in February landed somewhere in every one of our charts, and this Full Moon lights up that same part of life. So as you read your sign below, think back to late February and March - something probably started shifting in that area then, whether you noticed it at the time or not, and this weekend will be the first real look at what it’s become.
Below is a hint of which area of life it may have touched. Read for your Sun sign, and if you know your rising sign, read that one too. For something like a Full Moon, the rising sign is often the one that lands closest to home.
Aries
The Moon’s in your own sign, so this one’s personal. The seed went in right on top of you back in February, and with Saturn and Neptune both in Aries this year, nobody’s been rebuilt from the inside quite like you have. You might barely recognise who you were at the start of the year.….and this Moon shows you who’s been growing in their place. The Sun sits opposite, lighting up your partnerships, so the question lands squarely on your closest relationships: who am I now, and does the person beside me know that person yet? Some truths want saying this weekend. Say them from the heart and give them time to be heard, because Neptune’s fog makes it easy to be misunderstood. The fire’s yours to hold, and you’re better at it than you think.
Taurus
For you, the Moon falls in the most hidden part of your chart, the back room of the house where we keep our dreams, our rest, our secrets and the things we haven’t quite admitted to ourselves. So the seed’s been growing somewhere you can’t easily see, which might be why this year’s felt so murky and hard to name. Expect loud dreams, a need for more sleep than usual, and maybe something quietly coming to an end. Meanwhile the Sun lights up your daily routines, your work and your body, and your body might be telling the truth before your mind’s ready to. Your ruling planet Venus is slowing down in your relationship zone, so old feelings about someone close are stirring too. Let them surface. Rest is where you find out what’s true for you right now.
Gemini
The Moon lights up your friendships, your communities, the groups you belong to and your hopes for the future. Some of those have been quietly rearranging since February, and this Moon shows you which of them are true and which were only ever convenient. Uranus in your own sign is working beautifully with this Full Moon, so clarity could arrive like a lightning bolt... a message, an invitation, a sudden “oh, THAT’S where I belong”. The Sun sits across the way in the part of your chart ruling joy, creativity, romance and children, so the pull is between the life you share with the group and the life that simply lights you up. The fire here is the question of whether you’ve been doing what you love, or what helps you fit in. You’ll know the answer when you feel it.
Cancer
The Moon lights up the very top of your chart, your career, your reputation, your public role and what you’re building in the world, while the Sun lights up the very bottom of it: your home, your family, your roots. It’s the oldest tug of war there is, and for you it’s pulling hard this weekend. Something about your work or your standing may come to a head, and it’ll ask you what it’s all been for. On top of that, Mars is dragging through the last stretch of your sign, so you’ve been running hot and tired, and quick to defend your nest. Watch for the fire flying at the people you love most. They’re usually the ones standing closest. What you’re building out there and what you’re protecting at home are finally being asked to become the same thing.
Leo
The Moon lights up your beliefs, your big picture, travel, study and everything you’d call your philosophy of life. Since February something’s been cracking your worldview open, and this Moon shows you what’s been growing in the gap.…..a new sense of what it all means, perhaps, or a restlessness for somewhere far away. The Sun lights up your everyday conversations, your siblings, your neighbours and the messages you send, so all of that comes out in the talking. Say the true thing, and say it warmly. And remember, Jupiter’s been sitting in your sign expanding the heart of everything it touches. Of all the signs, you’re the hearth of the zodiac, the steady fire at the centre, and this year the rest of us need you to be exactly that.
Virgo
The Moon lights up the deepest part of your chart for other people: shared money, debts, intimacy, what you merge with and give yourself over to, and the kind of change that happens to us rather than because of us. The Sun sits across the way, lighting up your own money, possessions and sense of self-worth. So the question is a tender one.….what do you owe, and what are you owed? Where have you been giving more of yourself than you’ve got to give, and what’s that cost you? You’re the sign that always does the honest tally, and this Moon hands you one for your own heart. Count it truthfully, and be as generous with yourself as you are with everybody else.
Libra
The Sun’s in your sign, and the Moon’s sitting directly opposite it in your house of partnership, so this whole Full Moon is essentially about you and the people you share your life with. And since your sign is the sign of keeping the peace, the question of the faux fireplace is YOUR question this year. Where have you kept things smooth at the expense of the truth? What have you been too gracious to say? The people across from you might be the ones saying it this weekend, and it may sting. Stay with it a breath longer than feels comfortable. Your great gift was always balance, and the old word for real peace is “accord”, which comes from the Latin for heart. Heart to heart is where your balance goes next.
Scorpio
The Moon lights up your daily life.….your work, your routines, your body, your health and the ways you serve others. Something about how you spend your days has been shifting since February, and your body may be the first to tell you it’s had enough of the old routine. Listen to it. Meanwhile the Sun lights up the hidden back room of your chart, so a lot of what’s moving for you is happening under the surface, in dreams and in quiet. Venus is in your sign and slowing down, turning your attention back to what you value in love and in money, so expect a reckoning with what (and who) you’re really giving your energy to. The fire here asks for small, honest changes to how you live every day. Those are the ones that last.
Sagittarius
Good news, fire sign: the Moon lights up the most fun part of your chart. Joy, creativity, romance, children, play and anything you do just for the love of it. Since February, the seed’s been rewriting what actually lights you up, and this Moon might show you a spark you didn’t know you had. Follow it. Make something, flirt a little, play with the kids, say yes to the thing that makes your chest feel warm. The Sun lights up your friendships and your hopes for the future, so the pull is between your own joy and the crowd you run with. Neptune’s fog might make a new love or a creative dream look bigger than it is, so enjoy the feeling now and make the plans later.
Capricorn
For you the Moon lights up the foundations: home, family, where you come from and the private life nobody else sees. The Sun, meanwhile, sits right at the top of your chart, lighting up your career and your public role. So the classic tug between the life out there and the life in here is pulling hard. On top of that, Lilith has just arrived in your sign, the part of us that got left off the guest list, and she’s bringing up truths you might’ve kept tidily out of sight, especially about family and the house you grew up in. Let them in. You’re the sign of stone and structure, so you, more than anyone, know how to build the hearth. Build it at home first.
Aquarius
The Moon lights up your everyday conversations, your siblings, your neighbours, your messages and your thinking mind, while the Sun lights up your beliefs and your big picture. So this weekend it all comes down to what you say. A conversation you’ve been putting off might happen whether you’re ready or not, and it’ll change something. Pluto’s in your own sign now, handing power back to you piece by piece, and it’s working smoothly with this Moon, so your words carry more weight than usual. Use that well. Speak the truth carefully, from the heart, and watch how much it shifts. Also, your mind’s been doing a lot of heavy lifting this year. Let it rest by the fire for a night.
Pisces
This one’s close to home for you. Neptune, your own planet, spent the last fourteen years swimming through your sign, and now it’s moved into Aries, right where this Moon is rising, in the part of your chart ruling money, possessions, self-worth and what you value. So the seed was planted directly in your sense of what you’re worth. For a sign that’s spent a lifetime dissolving into other people, that’s a big deal. This Moon asks what you’re worth when you stop disappearing for everyone else, and it might show up as something very practical... a price, a pay rise, a boundary around your time or your money. The Sun lights up what you share with others, so it’s about what you give, too. Value yourself like you’d value someone you love.
Finding Your Own Seed
Of course, your Sun sign is only one twelfth of the story. Every one of us has the whole sky in our chart, so to know exactly how the Genesis Reset landed requires a look at your whole chart. Two people with the same Sun sign can feel it completely differently, depending on where the rest of their planets sit and which ones this Moon happens to touch.
That’s exactly why I was so excited to be part of the team that developed Ask Arion - an online platform that reads your whole birth chart, and you can ask it anything you like about how the sky’s landing for you. If you want to know where the seed fell in your own life and what this Full Moon’s lighting up, you can simply ask. A few questions to try:
“Where did the Saturn and Neptune meeting in Aries land in my chart, and what has it been growing?”
“How will the Aries Full Moon on 26 September land for me personally?”
“What part of my life is Neptune in Aries working on?”
And if you’d like the shape of the whole month ahead, lit by this Aries Full Moon, Arion’s Foresight feature maps out what’s coming for you, week by week.
The Light on the Garden
It’s been a long year of breaking ground for all of us, and a lot of what we’ve watched, out in the world and in our own lives, has looked more like destruction than bloom, and that’s because it was. Seeds break things, and this one broke the wall between the heart and the mind, built to keep uncomfortable, fiery feelings at bay, the kind the mind has trouble holding. The wall had to come down before anything new could grow in its place - we’ve lived in the mind-led world for long enough to know that change is needed. This is how the heart rises.
This weekend, as the lights come on and the fog rolls in, we’ll catch our first hazy glimpse of what’s been blooming and burning through the broken wall. Some of it will be beautiful. Some of it will be a truth we’ve been scared of for years. All of it is ours to hold, and the heart has room for every bit.
So on Saturday night, step outside if you can and look up. Find the Moon. Notice what you’re feeling, and where in your body you’re feeling it. And instead of throwing it or burying it, just let it sit by the fire for a while, and see what it has to say.
The feelings are our friends, and we needn’t fear their fire. Just take them to the place that can hold them, and listen.
And so rises the Age of the Heart.

The messages in this piece are so welcomed. My heart feels so very heavy, yet I have the practices, harvests from my first garden and work that enriches many in my community. Yet, I feel as though I’m grieving at a funeral. I’m leaving my old self behind, where my mind accomplished many great things, moving into my heart, a place I never truly gave space for feeling life, simply managing proficiently.
I’m grateful to be aware of the energy of this moon. Following along the story of the planets has been a compass I never imagined would ground me during the most challenging time on the planet I’ve ever witnessed. I’m not scared, but I’m soaked in awareness. This is like having all my clothes on, swimming in cold water towards an island I’ve never touched foot on.
I believe in the vibration of the universe, Cosmic Consciousness, the story of the stars. Without your beautiful charting of this time, I might not feel the potential that waits beyond the veil of our foggy world. Thanks Wiz, I really needed this today.
