Thank you, dear Wizard - very helpful and hopeful. A story about my relationship with a lime tree. I’ve planted several fruit trees over time, and always speak to the trees, touch them and thank them for their fruit. But after 14 years, a lime tree I’d planted had never produced a lime. I consulted experts who said: “prune more branches”, “add iron and sulfur”, “water it much more” - and so on. None of these actions made any difference year after year. It would produce hundreds of blossoms that would all fall off. Early this spring, I realized I hadn’t actually spoken to this particular tree as I had to all the other trees - and I said: “I don’t know what else to do for you, but you know what to do - and I trust you. Thank you.” I stopped trying to “make” it fruit. And this year for the first time there are several limes growing to full size. Think what you will, but everything in Nature is a relationship. The “scientific mind” says this is baloney. The heart knows it is true.
Julianne, you inspired me with this story, and I just did a lap of the garden speaking individually to all my plants. I spend a lot of time with them but I don’t often actually chat to them, and your message prompted me to correct that. May there be limes in abundance!
Dearest Wiz: this is brilliant, evocative, and so hopeful. A perfect blend of mind and heart. It is so easy, in the realm of the negativity bias of legacy media, to become doom seekers. The reality, if one tunes into the heart, is so much, SO MUCH deeper and more meaningful. And it’s already starting!! Excellent newsletters here on Substack like Earth Regenerators, Better Future and Jess Friday catalog where we are, what we can do, and what is already being done ALL OVER TtHE WORLD! Thank you for your clarion cry, your wisdom and depth , and vision. Grateful to be on this journey with you. Grateful for the numbers who join us everyday. ♥️E
Yes, Elizabeth, I’m seeing more and more people gathering news of the hopeful and inspiring things that are happening, not just the doom news of what’s collapsing. Yes, a lot is falling apart, but all that is just clearing space for better to grow. We can do this. Onwards!!
“Stay, and the alarm thins into grief - for the summers we assumed we’d keep, for the world we were handed, and loved, and are losing. Grief is not dysfunction - it’s just the distance between what we wished for and what we got, between the world we hoped to keep and the world that actually is.”
Grief. That’s all I have been feeling lately. Now I am understanding why, not that it makes it easier. I’m just going to sit with it, feel it, and find the battlefronts that I can fight in; the vote, the garden, the kitchen, the solar panels and batteries.
And, Jay, there’d be something wrong if you weren’t feeling the grief right now. We all feel it - clearly, this is not the world we all hoped for. The gap between what we hoped and what we’re getting is now a chasm it’s impossible to cross. The grief is huge, and we should honor it and feel it. And then we should remember that the story isn’t over yet. This is how the new world emerges - through utter calamity. Through a gap we do not know how to cross, and yet somehow, together, we will cross it. Holding hands now, and ONWARDS!
Spectacular article Wiz! So much that resonated. This especially.
“This is the language we’re being asked to become fluent in, so we can sense the tree before it’s lopped, and the water before it’s run, and the air before it’s breathed, and every living thing we share this planet with, and the Earth can speak to us and we will listen, and feel it as part of us. That’s the feeling the Noongar know a season by, the one the Moken trusted over the argument, the one the farmers in the Andes read in the dawn sky, and the moment we feel it we’re speaking the Earth’s language again - the one that’s been underneath the fear the whole time, waiting for us to stop running.”
I have been working on learning to listen to a new language, the one of my body and not my mind.
I am using the process in the book “Your Body Knows The Answer” by David I. Rome if anyone is interested.
The heart of the book is using a process of Grounding in the Body, becoming Aware of our immediate surroundings through our senses, and being present to our body below the neck to learn how to listen to our inner natural non-conceptual “felt sense” and receive guidance from this felt sense.

Also, I keep my attention on my lower Dan Tien during the day as best I can and the inner narratives and story telling are settling down. Here is a 5 minute video on connecting with the lower Dan Tien.
I have been doing the above, and I can tell you the messaging I receive is nothing like what I get from my head/brain/mind. And Yes, the heart and gut/vagus nerve live in this space.
There is way more to us than we have been conditioned to believe if anyone wants something to try.
I just want to marinate in what you’ve written here, Ben. I love Rome’s book and that philosophy, and how you’ve framed it here is just perfect - an excellent companion to some of what I was pointing at in this week’s Wrap-Up. We’re a species so obsessed with thinking, so stuck on our thoughts, that we forget to pay attention to what’s communicating from the neck down. There is so much wisdom to be gained from the felt sense - not just thinking, but feeling, and both things working together. Yes to GAP! I love it!
The future has medicine we might find unpalatable, yet how you map the history of the skies, coupled with people who have mapped earthly crises, helps me see the potential of the human heart in connection with the earth. Yes, times are going to be difficult, but the heart will hold us in earth’s womb. Onward we must go, no matter what the circumstances, from our hearts.
Thank you, Wiz, for this week's article! I always look forward to your articles! I was so glad to read your references to the "Fourth Turning." There are a lot of books being written about the social, economic and political changes that are coming due to the different cycles of various things all coming "due" around the same time. I find it interesting that so many people are coming to the same conclusions about the big changes that are coming - and they are coming to those conclusions from different angles. I believe astrology is the one thing that looks at all these "cycles," and ties everything together. So I was very interested to read your take on what the crisis would be that will dismantle the current state of things. I was very relieved to read that you do not think it will be a war or any military-type of event. However, you stating that it will be the earth and Mother Nature that will be the event, does not give me much more comfort! I will try to get through this like everyone else, and I look forward to the time when the heart rules and the mind no longer does. Namaste
The Fourth Turning is the study of patterns that first turned me towards astrology, because it traced 500 years of pattern…..and I discovered astrology traced almost 5,000 (and possibly even more). When we can see the pattern and understand that our planet moves in cycles, it helps us to understand that what looks like disaster is sometimes just the natural cycle of things. This Crisis cycle will not be easy - the Crisis cycle never is - but humanity will find its way, and I believe, come out the other side better for it. That’s always been the way. Onwards, I say!
As I read your posts, I think about my four-year-old granddaughter and the future in front of her. She will be growing up through this transition. I wonder and worry about her future. My grief in all of this is for her, her parents, my adult trans child, and all those of their generations.
May the Age of the Heart end the genocides and famines. May people the world over learn they cannot dominate the natural world; they are part of it, and their actions create either harmony or disruption, depending on those actions. May kindness and empathy overcome the racism, misogyny, and anti-LGBTQ+ sentiments. May there be no more hoarding of wealth.
My heart is heavy. These are big asks. There is so much suffering and hardship all around us.
Yes Karen, this is a troubling time, and the world your granddaughter will grow up in will be entirely different to the one you did. Humanity has much to learn, much to remember, and I believe in the coming decades we will do both…..doing so will be essential to our survival, and our species has a way of managing to do the hard thing when it means the difference between life or death. Every soul that has come into the physical at this time chose to come with great intention - every person alive right now is here with great purpose. We came to be here for this hinge, believe it or not - our human mind doesn’t remember it, because it wasn’t the mind that made the choice. But the heart knows - the heart, that’s tethered to who we really are in our depths, the soul, the spirit, the divine. The heart remembers. Looking to the future with our mind will only ever bring up thoughts of distress and despair, so we must learn to look with the heart. And remember. Onwards!
It so illuminating to read your words, so concise and so overwhelming, that all of this happened in just a week, no wonder why every is so exhausted! Thank you for your words.
I always need to take a long lie down after compiling all the news…..and the news I include isn’t even all of it. There’s a lot of life going on right now! Glad you find this writing illuminating! Thank-you for reading! xx
I'm griefed out, so going back to my recent default setting of the past couple of years: joy. Nothing is going to suck the joy out of my life again. I can sit with pain and fear and uncertainty and whatever else lands, but I'm going to greet it with joy and welcome it in. Kissing cousin perhaps, to killing with kindness, but coming from the opposite direction, from authenticity. Confidence, compassion, and courage are my touchstones. That and labradorite and selenite and a few other rocks between me and the hardest places. [Feel free to remind me if I backslide!]
What a great mindset. You know, something I’m learning is that we can hold a joyful outlook whilst still exploring the full span of feelings that are rising to commune with us. The feelings are just communication - it’s what our thoughts try to do with those feelings that makes things tricky. Sitting with the feelings, whilst holding that deep remembrance that, really, all is well….that’s the way. xx
Thank you! This really puts into perspective what I'm seeing, feeling, & believing. The future will not be easy. We will not all get there. But humanity will survive, & be more united & compassionate.
You know, Karen, I’m not sure the future has ever been easy. It’s very possible that for a brief window in the mid to late 90’s we all arrived at a time, almost unprecedented in history, when things were easier than they’d ever been, and the future seemed easy too. But for most of human history, life has been challenging, just as it is now. We will find our way to greater harmony, and I suspect the journey there will be as life as intended to be - challenging, because the challenge is what grows us, and that’s why we came. Onwards, I say!

POINT OF INTEREST: HEMPCRETE IS CARBON NEGATIVE. IT PULLS CARBON RIGHT OUT OF THE AIR.
May we all live in houses built of the stuff (and I believe we will!)
This was deeply moving. Thank you.
My pleasure. Thankyou for reading
