In the northern hemisphere, Virgo season is when people start tidying up after the mess of summer. Schools go back, budgets tighten, routines reassert themselves. It’s not glamorous, but it’s necessary. Virgo is about refinement, accountability, and making sure things work. It’s like a little prompt from the universe saying: “Okay, the party was fun, but let’s clean up, fix the leaks, and put things back in order.”
On a global scale, Virgo season often lines up with markets and money coming under scrutiny (September stock corrections, fiscal “resets,” budget fights), public health and systems becoming flashpoints (from outbreaks to policy shifts), weather and climate stress-tests (September is peak hurricane season in the Atlantic, for example) and political audits with scandals breaking, leaders facing scrutiny, institutions being pressed to prove their integrity.

I can’t find another instance in at least 200 years where the Sun and Moon crossed into Virgo together and fused immediately. The closest recent precedent was August 2011, when the Virgo New Moon landed at 5°, and the U.S. lost its AAA credit rating for the first time in history, London exploded in riots after years of systemic neglect, Gaddafi’s regime in Libya collapsed, and Hurricane Irene slammed the East Coast, exposing fragile infrastructure.
If 5° Virgo could do that, what happens when the Sun and Moon fuse at 0°, the very doorway of the sign? There’s no precedent for this happening in our lifetime, or even in the last few centuries. It’s a double hit of Virgo audit energy to kick off the season, and as the season rolls on, it doesn’t let up.

If the Sun & Moon collision opening this Virgo season weren’t enough, September also carries two eclipses - one Lunar Eclipse in Pisces on September 7 and a Solar Eclipse in Virgo on September 21.
